On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the Arkansas Tech University College of Business and Economic Development brought the beach to campus with its Beach Bash event. Turning the Student Union into a lively hotspot of games, food, and giveaways, the event lasted from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Students who signed in were entered into a prize drawing that included things such as paddle boards, coolers, and a flat-screen TV. The event featured a wide variety of activities like bingo, bracelet making, tie-dye shirts, seashell painting, and s’mores. NovaStar Rescue brought some of their adoptable puppies for patrons to pet and play with.

One of the biggest crowd-pleasers was the dunk tank, where students could take their shot at dunking business faculty including Dr. Tracy Cole, Mr. Thomas Pennington, Mrs. Erin Callahan, and Dr. John Narcum.  To earn throws, students brought donation items such as dog treats, hygiene products, or non-perishable food, all of which were collected to benefit local community organizations.

The evening also featured plenty of snacks and treats served by business faculty and professors including pizza, cotton candy, caramel apples, and hot pretzels, keeping everyone fueled for fun.

Several Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) volunteered to help run stations and assist with activities, playing a key role in making the event a success.

The Beach Bash blended fun, service, and school spirit, proving that the College of Business knows how to throw a campus-wide celebration.
