On Oct. 13, the Computer Club hosted a presentation night to go over various computer science related subjects, as well as personal interests. The event encouraged students to showcase projects they had been working on, ideas they had, and to dive into topics they were interested in.

“I really enjoyed the laid-back nature that the presentation night brought to learning more about various topics,” said freshman Christopher Smith from Russellville. He continued saying, “The other presentations were very informative, and I found myself excited for the next one.”

Smith’s presentation went over the history of User Interfaces as well as User Experience in computers, tracing how design has evolved from early text-based systems to the modern, visually rich desktops.

“I’ve always been obsessed with both graphic design and computers,” Smith said. “UI and UX is the way that humans talk to computers, like buttons, fonts, animations, and more.”

The Computer Club provides a space for students to share ideas, connect with people with similar interests, and celebrate technology.

“The Presentation night is a fantastic way to connect with your friends and get to just yap about stuff you like for a while,” Smith finished. “Anyone who enjoys technology can find a place in the Computer Club”.
