On Sept. 8, the Computer Club had its first meeting to discuss the upcoming events, leadership elections, and the future of the club. The club invites students of all majors with a shared interest in technology, programming, and innovation to gather every Monday at 6 p.m. in Corley 231.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the upcoming leadership elections. The current leadership team outlined the available roles, as well as the potential committees, allowing all members to have a voice.

In attempts to expand their organization, the Computer Club plans to have events, promote technological literacy, and overall provide a space for those interested in electronics.

“I want people to know that all are welcome. I’m positive that the club will grow and do great things,” said Vice President Hunter Myers, a sophomore Computer Science major from Fort Smith.

The conversation then moved toward the future of the Computer Club itself. The members discussed potential event ideas, ways to fundraise, and methods to promote computer knowledge and literacy.

As the semester progresses, the Computer Club looks forward to hosting its next meetings, such as the Game Night on Sept. 15, and creating opportunities for members to grow both technically and socially.

Those interested in joining the club can reach out to President Dalton Bishop at dbishop6@atu.edu. Dues are required and are ten dollars per semester.
