The Black Student Association and the Beta Phi chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated have joined forces with Russellville’s Chipotle to raise funds for the organizations. On Monday, Sept. 29, 25% of Chipotle’s sales generated between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. will get donated. The funds raised will get split equally between the organizations.
Participation in the Percentage Night Fundraiser is open to everyone. For the funds to count towards the fundraiser, online orders must be placed for pickup only and use the code “KA6BNMQ.” Delivery orders and gift cards will not qualify. Orders placed inside the restaurant need only to show the flyer located on the @atu_bsa and @atuzphib Instagram accounts.
Only orders placed at the restaurant located at 3095 E Main St., Russellville, AR, 72802 will count toward the fundraiser.
When asked why they selected Chipotle, BSA President, Miyon Atkins, stated, “We chose Chipotle because it’s one of the newest food options here in town. I personally love Chipotle and finding out about their fundraising partnership was our green light to pursue the fundraiser.”
When asked what they will use the funds for, Beta Phi President, Faith Kelly, said, “A portion of the proceeds and donations will go toward our chapter tax, which helps support programs such as Zeta’s National Educational Foundation (Z-NEF), Zeta’s Helping Other People Excel (Z-HOPE), and other initiatives. These funds also allow us to host student engagement events, community service, and sustain the operations and activities of the organization.
When asked what they were hoping to accomplish, Atkins said, “We hope to build camaraderie, increase membership in our organizations, and gain extra support for our events.” Kelly said, “We are a community-conscious and action-oriented organization committed to engaging our community to provide better support. Through this event, we aim to strengthen the bond between our current student body and the residents of Russellville. Together, we will learn meaningful ways to serve and uplift our community, while acting where it is needed most. In all that we do, we strive to embody our principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.”
Those interested can look forward to the fundraiser in the coming weeks. Questions can be directed to Miyon Atkins for BSA and Faith Kelly for Beta Phi.
