Arkansas Tech University awards approximately 250 foundation scholarships each year to students of all majors, classifications and backgrounds. The scholarships are of varying amounts, ranging from $250 to $6,800.
Applications for foundation scholarships opened Sept. 1, and will close on Feb. 1, 2026.
Foundation scholarships provide current and upcoming Tech students with additional opportunities to earn scholarships. Each scholarship is privately funded by people such as alumni.
Several foundation scholarships are one-click applications, making it easy for students to apply for multiple scholarships in a short amount of time.
Jaz Fuller, a freshman mechanical engineering major from Springdale, received the Majors Family scholarship before coming to ATU. This scholarship is specifically designated to incoming freshmen who intend to major in engineering and is worth $2,000.
“[The scholarship] came at a good time because the day before I got it, I was telling my mom that I owed $2,000 this semester and I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay for it. The next day, I received an email telling me that I got the scholarship and that I wasn’t going to have to pay as much as I thought,” said Fuller.
“People should definitely apply for foundation scholarships because you don’t lose anything by applying. If you do get one, it would be great because you get money,” Fuller added.
Another student, Dorian Segura, a senior English major from Corning, has also received a foundation scholarship in the past. The scholarship he received covered his entire tuition for the school year.
“I was able to come here without paying a penny,” said Segura.
Foundation scholarships are considered an excellent opportunity to earn money toward paying tuition and allows students to focus on studies.
